Groklaw fills out recent reporting on a couple of SCO events.
"Guess how many people went to hear Darl McBride's keynote address at CDXPO?
No, really. Guess. According to Todd Weiss of ComputerWorld, there were only
80 people. Count them. 80." The article also looks at the "death threats" issue and comes to the same conclusion we had: just more SCO nonsense.

It's as expected. The whole SCO thing is a tempest in a teapot. If the U.S. did not have such a litigation-friendly legal system, SCO's suit would long since have been dismissed for the vapor that it is.
Instead we are seeing the ultimate in cynical opportunism: SCO's lawyer becomes a major stockholder and thus has a huge vested interest in winning this case, right or wrong.
I wonder... by becoming a major stockholder, has Boies & co. not compromised their credibility? How can they stand up in a court of law and piously argue their client's case while their accountant is out in the hallway, tracking the ticker price?
Violence and the advocate mindset

I'm not so sure that the threats of violence are feigned. Several times I've found myself so angry at the SCO execs that my fight-or-flight reflex was engaged. Who's to say that some (slightly) less well adjusted Linux advocate might not have reacted by sending nasty email containing a threat? It's not at all unlikely. All it takes is one or two people off the end of the bell curve.
Evidence of threat?

Sure, it MAY have happened.
But, SCO certainly has an axe to grind and would benefit from the PR if some nutcase in the FOSS community actually did make a threat.
Only, where is the evidence? Where is the proof? Where is a copy of the e-mail? A recording of the phone call message? ANYTHING except SCO's word for it?
It is just more unsubstantiated "facts" from the SCO people. Apparently, the local police did not know of the matter, and they should if a threat actually occurred.
