But accounting that the majority of Linux deploiments, because of entreprise acceptance and the typical tech aware linux user, are most probably behind a firewall with NAT,... how can you be sure of the quantity of -"single machines"- connected to those gateways ?
The majority of windows users are not behind no proper security because they were educated to be sheep ready to be sheared... so the propotion most probabily is not correct.
And not to mention, most probabily (i dont know, i've to check), that modules like LSM and grsecurity have mechanisms to prevent OS fingerprinting...
