You don't need the full range 6881-6999 if you use only a single system (you can still run multiple bittorrent at the same time).

Bittorrent downloads the file pieces from different places, so slow connection with you won't prevent downloading other parts in the same time. Sure, the download will be faster for you. Consider leaving bittorrent running until it uploads as much data as it has downloaded.
