Games may seem relatively low-risk, but when you consider the sheer number of libraries they employ, plus the fact that they're all networked these days.. it's a recipe for considerable mayhem. (Just ask any console vendor!)
Zero remote exploits and few locally-exploitable ones (usually related to [mis]handling of saves). Reason enough to live with few mediocre games instead of many thousands popular games? Ah… right… also some ID games which you can enjoy yeras after release. Well… perhaps that's enough for you. Certainly not for me.
P.S. I specifically excluded most Linux games from my count because, you know, all these “Worlds of Goo”s and “DOTA”s bundle just as many libraries as their MacOS or Windows counterparts.
