Fedora Flock recaps

Máirín Duffy has posted recaps of Fedora's Flock event. Even though she was not physically present Flock was available to remote participants. The recaps include links to slides and transcripts of the talks. Not all videos are available yet, but you'll find links to those that have been released. See the posts for day 1, day 2, and day 3. Let me clarify here. :) Thanks should go to the people who did all the work for this. I just forwarded the URLs to LWN.

I love the transcripts. I can read a one-hour talk in about 10 minutes, and I don't need to download a huge video (I have slow and capped internet).

I wish more conferences had transcripts.

Let me know if there's any talks without transcripts that you'd like a transcript for - I can start a list and prioritize based on demand. You can post here or in the blog comments for the recaps.

I'm quite happy with the transcripts of Flock, all the talks that interested me already have transcripts.

I've been interested in talks in other conferences (Google I/O for example) but then decided to not watch them because I don't want to spend the time to watch a video. Transcripts not only solve this problem, but also help me quickly decide if a talk is interesting by skimming the transcript.

Video's are a pretty low bandwidth medium indeed.

I usually use play videos at 150% or 200% of their original speed. It saves me time, and I actually get a better understanding (because I need to focus more and therefore get distracted less). If a video is on Youtube, you can switch to the HTML5 player which allows you change the playback speed. Otherwise I download the video and play it with vlc which also allows you to change the speed.

I wish every fedora talk in the future to have the transcripts and the presentation slides as PDFs. Its saves us a lot of time.
