CyanogenMod's upcoming "Focal" camera app
Guillaume Lesniak describes
the interesting new features to be found in the "Focal" camera app,
soon to make its appearance in CyanogenMod nightly builds. "Timer
mode lets you set up a countdown timer before taking a shot, and our
favorite Voice Trigger is back to take a shot as soon as you say 'Cheese',
'Cid', or 'Whiskey'. The burst mode, as its name says, makes a burst of
shots. The number of shots can be 5, 10, 15, or an infinite number of shots
(stops when you press the shutter button again)."

So the first part of much-hyped ”Nemesis” turned out to be camera app? That's dissapointing.

The best bets I saw:
- closer collaboration from Google side - important OEM deciding to ship phone with CM - leaping ahead of Google with SELinux integration or something other, like you know, actual innovation.

The applications are actually the most important part of Android. By a long shot.
Therefore a camera app is going to have vastly more impact and chances to improve Cyanogenmod then something like SELinux tweaking or some other system-level thing.

What did you expect? They wasted people's time with a contentless video clip, which should tell have told you thye probably didn't have much to say.

Same with paintings. Yeah, that Mona Lisa has an OK smile, but "The Office" has way more "that's what she said" jokes.
