a last minute miracle?

a last minute miracle?

"But, barring some sort of last minute miracle
(do contact us if you have one, please!), we
do not see any alternative."

Perhaps there is some tiny chance that a miracle
could happen ... last minute funding by those of
us who really value this publication. I'm reading
all these comments from people who are sad that
you're closing, and I understand that - but are
we really sad enough to change that outcome?

A previous poster offered to donate $100. I'll
pledge to match that if you can keep publishing.

How much money do we need to raise to keep you
guys going for an additional month - to delay
shutdown from August 1st until September 1st?
I believe there's a chance we can raise that.

The truth is there's simply nothing else on the
net like LWN, and I've personally learned a lot
about linux from reading here. LWN is more than
just another news site.

I'm suggesting we take this rescue effort just
one month at a time - and the month we fail to
meet LWN's minimum - that's when they'll close.

Ladies and Gentlemen ... Will you join me?

Please put on the site the amount of money it would take to run LWN for a month/a year, and how close donations are to achieving this.
