========================================================================== Ubuntu Security Notice USN-1785-1 April 02, 2013 poppler vulnerabilities ========================================================================== A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives: - Ubuntu 12.10 - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - Ubuntu 11.10 - Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Summary: Applications using poppler could be made to crash or possibly run programs as your login if they opened a specially crafted file. Software Description: - poppler: PDF rendering library Details: It was discovered that poppler contained multiple security issues when parsing malformed PDF documents. If a user or automated system were tricked into opening a crafted PDF file, an attacker could cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code with privileges of the user invoking the program.
