Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced the release of the 3.8.5, 3.4.38, and 3.0.71 stable kernels. As always, there are lots of important changes throughout the tree.

Looks like 3.8.5 still panics in some setups involving disconnection from an internet connection over a serial link (PPP, DUN, etc.). This has been troubling the whole 3.8 series. I may suggest to those who expect to be occasionally in need of this kind of connections to keep an extra 3.7.x kernel image installed. The problem may not bite them, but it is always better to have an second option just in case.
