I've been a happy user of mosh on my smartphone (Nokia N9) since I discovered it, as it makes shell sessions much more bearable even with intermittent WiFi and 3G connectivity.

Well it isn't completely transparent, you still need MPTCP support on the server.

But the server support could be completely in the OS, transparent to the application couldn't it?
