Wow, I met Malcolm many years ago at dinner in boston. He was funny and clever and just plain friendly. We bounced back in forth in vaguely related projects for years and through various media sources. I'm shocked and saddened by his death. He will be missed not only as a major contributor to a lot of projects but also as a nice guy to be around and talk to.

!@#!@#@!. Very fond memories of sitting on my futon in Boston, pounding out text and code together that became the first GNOME 2.x "about" box. One of the nicest, most genuine people I've known in free software.
