"it sill shows something about the focus of the Fedora project."

It's not really any sort of hidden thing...

"The Fedora Project is the name of a worldwide community of people who love, use, and build free software. We want to lead in the creation and spread of free code and content by working together as a community."

If you want to spread free code and content, you have to make it accessible to a wider audience.

"The Fedora Project creates a world where (1) free culture is welcoming and widespread, (2) collaboration is commonplace, and (3) people control their content and devices."

You can't spread free culture far and wide if you limit who can access it.

"Among our other goals, we strive to create a distribution that is not only open to contribution but also serves the needs of a wide audience of users. By meeting the common needs of a wide audience, Fedora encourages the spread of free software, understanding of its methodologies, and participation in its processes."

If you were upset about where the project was heading it would have been better if you spoke up back in 2006-2008 when those statements were developed by the project board.

this could be read to support Yenya's argument as much as refute it (widening access by not locking out the server users).

Perhaps I'm jumping at shadows but you seem to be very passive aggressive towards yenya and I can't see why. It's as if I'm only seeing half of the conversation. They seem to at least be trying to offer constructive input.

I'm not - but you know, Yenya seems pretty capable of speaking for him or herself.

Well, I didn't intend to hold a one-to-one exclusive discussion with you. Other readers are of course welcome to join. So saying "Yenya seems pretty capable of speaking for him or herself" is not the best way how to refute jond's point.

I have intentionally not posted a reply to your quotations - I have wondered whether the other readers could also see that the high-level "visionary" phrases you have quoted from the Fedora website have in fact nothing to do with the topic of the previous discussion - i.e. whether Fedora should also support server and power-desktop use cases. I am glad at least some of them do.
