"How often do Fedora users boot their systems to even justify the discussion about making the boot process prettier?"
You must have not read the thread or the blog post summary. Um, we're dealing with at least 9 outright bugs, and 3 big-picture issues. There were exactly 2 polish items in the list of issues that came up during the thread, and only one of them was really aesthetic in nature. The entire impetus behind this effort isn't to make the boot up 'prettier' nor do I see anywhere where anybody working on it has said as much.
