Why? I think 4.6.3 is a pretty solid release.

Yeah. Heck, I put off upgrading to 4.7.x for ages because 4.6.x was so solid.

glibc 2.17.x doesn't seem particularly 'unusable' to me, either. It's more usable than the 2.14.x lauded above because the sunrpc stuff is once more linkable against, reverting a pointless compatibility break that bit you if you ever tried to rebuild nfs-utils.
