Oh, so it's 1.45 instead of 1.3% in, say, France. That sure makes one hell of a difference...
And frankly, there are reasons why the Linux desktop hasn't gone anywhere yet. The same mistakes are repeated over and over again: NIH, bikeshedding and bickering about all kinds of pettinesses. The crap that Ubuntu is pulling off right now is a perfect example of that. I haven't given up on the Linux desktop yet, because there are people who are aware of this and try to fight it, like Poettering who tries to unify the basic system infrastructure with systemd, or Adam Jackson with his famous "Linux is not about choice" email. But I'm not holding by breath either with people like Mark Shuttleworth actively driving wedges between people and communities.
