Sure, most people understand, but many will skip reading your comment when they see things like that, since it suggests a certain Slashdot-ish style of thinking and writing.
I think ovitters's comments are intended constructively, and tend to agree. I just skip your comments because they're hard to read and kind of ranty, and I suspect I'm not the only one.
This may be fine if you're just writing to vent, but if you want to actually communicate your ideas you might want to think about how you do so.

I see it exactly like the impulse to fork and get differentiation... ppl are always "free" to do that.
And matter of fact i never posted on Slashdot... doubt how much you like... it is just a perfect illustration of why ppl tend to be very mistaken with their clichés, prejudices and judging of others. And this tend to reflect in many other things included in the code and decisions they take.
But in any case i rather be Slashdot-ish than Windoze-ish of forced conformity...
And now those powers seem to be wanting ppl to police each other, this while free speech is not abolished for good... meanwhile is don't look don't listen, attack any opposition to the aesthetic line... for lack of better arguments for your own carved self doom...

I indeed meant it constructively. His (?) comments are very hard to read and I just suggesting ways to improve. As he (?) does not care to make his comments readable and most people seem to ignore his comments, I guess this will be the first time I'll put someone on the LWN ignore list :P
