Kernel prepatch 3.9-rc1

Linus has released 3.9-rc1 and closed the merge window for this development cycle. There is no email announcement as of this writing, but he has put an announcement on Google+. "Imagine the pure adrenaline rush of catching that last herring just before the great white shark gets you, flying through the waters and landing perfectly on that ice-sheet, giving the shark the flipper. That, my friend, is living. But if you can't race sharks to live, trying out an -rc1 kernel gets you close. Come on, you know you want to."
