"As for using for CMake, when your project takes three years to migrate because you are building some 100000 targets on three platforms you take concern of your dependencies. OpenOffice got burned by this as they needed to because the maintainers of dmake when upstream dried up. GNU Make OTOH will be:
- around for a long time"
All of KDE uses CMake and is a hell of a lot bigger than LibreOffice, and has been using CMake since 2007. We're not afraid that CMake will disappear -- it's too widely used for that. We also didn't need three years to migrate, but maybe KDE just started out with a saner system (although using the word "sane" in connection with autotools is kind of insane).
