Not in a sense that you can copy GPL code into it and still retain its licence. That's not how the GPL work. (IANAL).

A GPL project can incorporate MIT-licensed code, but MIT-licensed projects can't incorporate GPL code - and the X.org developers deliberately chose the MIT license.
