This is strange because we are managing more the 30'000 desktops here and this change makes perfect sense to us. I mean: to nicely integrate new release of Linux in our system, test it with all the hardware supported, etc we need 3-4-6 month thus non-LTS versions were never even considered so what's the point of ever providing them? Rolling releases will provide newer software for the rare cases where it's really needed (and if newer software is needed campus-wide you can always use a backport).
