You are entitled to your opinions and especially your tastes: if you dislike killfiles then don't use them, but you are not going into mine unless you repeat your opinions on 80% of your comments (or defend them with vile techniques).

As a reader, reading the same trollish arguments over and over detracts from the LWN.net experience (and the sadly limited time I have for it right now). I like reading articles with many comments when they are thoughtful and informative; when they just consist of one or two threads started with tired arguments it is very disappointing. Right now the filter has only left seven comments unless I take the trouble to expand filtered comments: nice!

As a writer, I get your point but again life is too short.

Except I include a small change: s/Internet/LWN or Phoronix/
