Bacon: Community Driven Ubuntu Phone Core Apps

Oh. I welcome what Jono is trying to do with this, and wish Canonical the very best of success, but I can't see this being an evolutionary process - there's no Benevolent Dictator to usher projects to the next best idea. Also, the design ideas might find a diamond in the rough, but I expect that it will regress to the mean (or mediocrity) and there won't be enough to show a Ubuntu Phone as better than a comparable Android handset.

I have to restate my view that I don't dislike Canonical or their grand dreams. I'm just not sure that this community process is optimal - best of luck building the developer community who will power the ecosystem!
