My popcon data always shows GNOME well ahead, but that is because it is the default desktop installed. XFCE4 seems to be ahead of KDE, and GNOME seems to have an interesting bump about half a year ago -- but it is an artifact of the total number of Debian installations. But I never know if I get my packages right -- actually I firmly believe I get them wrong.
