Oracle Linux 5.9 released
Oracle has announced
the release of Oracle Linux 5.9, thus winning the race to be the first RHEL
clone to follow the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9 release. See the release

Looks like CentOS 5.9 is out today too... as it has hit most mirrors I believe. They haven't made a formal announcement yet. Last week they mentioned they had all of the packages build and in the CR (continuous release) repo... but needed to do a bit more testing before the full release was out. That was fast CentOS!

I think what Oracle won was the race to announce; the actual text of the announcement says that their release will be available "soon"
