Eventually smartphones are going to be powerful enough where we can plug them in to a docking station for complete PC usability when we have arrived at our destination... and still use them somewhat productively when they aren't docked.
In fact the OpenWebDevice (the hardware that goes with Firefox OS) is supposed to ship precisely with very limited hardware capabilities -- apparently running HTML5 apps directly is faster than going through an OS. So it will take a long time before Firefox OS is competing with desktops.
