I haven't had it installed recently, but I probably will in a few months (raspberry pi support coming!). So I would like to know why you think that...

Sorry if I alarmed you as it's only gossip: someone told me (no names of course). I think he will be pretty happy to be proved wrong: please go on with NetBSD on the Pi.
