I know planes have an attitude but I think Jake meant altitude information in this article.

But isn't altitude part of the position (which also include longitude and latitude).
Attitude with which way it is facing, and which way up it is, and whether a tail-spin is happening, which is independent of the position.
So I'm guessing Jake really did mean attitude.

Yup, that's right. Pitch, yaw, and roll is another way to express it, I think ...
