Arduino has released version 1.5 of its microcontroller programming environment, which supports easier library installation and board selection. The new release also implements compiling "sketches" for multiple processor architectures, a feature designed to support the Arduino Due board, which is also available now. The Due hardware sports a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 CPU in place of the 8-bit microcontrollers of previous generations, as well as USB OTG and two digital-to-analog converters (DACs).
