Good article. As an idea for future articles, however, I'd like to hear about the other side of
package management. You've covered the user experience fairly well, but I'd be interested
to hear about the package builder's experience. I've worked a lot with rpms and find them
very easy to work with. I've worked a little bit with Debian packages and they're much more
difficult to work with (primarily because they spread things out over multiple different files
whereas rpm puts everything into one .spec file). If you do that comparison, btw, you might
also look into other things like gentoo ebuilds and fink info packages.
