One thing that I hardly ever see mentioned with VOIP is security. Which is pretty shocking to me.
Does ZRTP work with XMPP? Is anybody working on something like that? I hope people don't just settle on a CA based hierarchies are fine ways of protecting people approach...
OTR is quite commonly supported at least on desktop clients (Pidgin, Jitsi, Adium etc.). ZRTP is still dragging behind in support (Jitsi supports it I think).

Thanks for the links. I have used OTR with IM, and think it's great.
However I was referring to encryption of audio and video. As far as I can see OTR is only for instant messaging.

Yep, OTR is for the IM part of XMPP. But if you care about privacy, you don't want your media stream to be encrypted, while your text messages are not :)
