Storix now provides full-featured system backup and recovery software for
Linux systems.
San Diego, CA -- July 22, 2002 Storix Software has now expanded their
expertise of system backup and recovery to Linux systems with the
availability of Storix System Backup Administrator (SBA) for Linux Version
4.1. The software is currently available for all major distributions and
supports Intel (x86) and PowerPC-based systems.
Unlike several "bare-metal" restore techniques, SBA understands Linux and
your specific system configuration allowing it to rebuild the system from the
ground up. SBA supports all major filesystems, Logical Volume Manger (LVM)
and software RAID (meta-disk) devices.
Storix System Backup Administrator can be used to manage backups of a
standalone system or all Linux systems on the network. SBA's intuitive
graphical user interface provides all the features you would expect, as well
as advanced features such as backup scheduling, tape labels, tape striping,
overwrite and retention policies, performance statistics reporting and
support for sequential autoloaders.
SBA's system installation process allows you to restore onto the same or a
completely different hardware configuration. Plus, you can re-customize your
system by changing filesystem types, adding software RAID devices, converting
to LVM partitions and much more.
