Parent article: Debian relicenses its logo
So, the logo without the name (which was free already, licensed under the Expat license) in it is now less liberally licensed than previously? I don't really see the reason for this part of the change.

I believe the relevant quite is "We've also been advised not to relicense the "with 'Debian'" logo under a so-called "liberal" license like the Expat license." -- I guess the CC-BY-SA license is considered sufficiently equivalent? I don't see that an MIT-style license is particularly appropriate for artwork, especially since it references "Software" specifically.
