The 3.6 kernel is out

[Kernel] Posted Oct 1, 2012 3:47 UTC (Mon) by corbet

Linus has released the 3.6 kernel. "When I did the -rc7 announcement a week ago, I said I might have to do an -rc8, but a week passed, and things have been calm, and I honestly cannot see a major reason to do another rc. So here it is, 3.6 final." Notable features in 3.6 include TCP small queues, the client-side TCP fast open implementation (server side should go in for 3.7), IOMMU groups, the Btrfs send/receive feature, the VFIO device virtualization mechanism, and more. See the KernelNewbies 3.6 page (under construction as of this writing) for details.
