I think the time when smartphones, tablets and the other types of underpowered miniature computers that are using atom processors are powerful enough to make good use of virtualization is still a few years away.I disagree. I routinely use virtual machines on a miniature computer using a 1.6 GHz Atom CPU. It is underpowered only relative to high-power desktop processors. It wouldn't be a good choice for the latest first-person shooters, but there are plenty of non-graphics workloads that are just fine running in a VM on it.
