OpenERP

Oh agreed. I went through many of the "open" ERP systems a couple years ago before settling on OpenERP. So many of them I would call "baitware". I remember one, calling itself "open", that said you'd have to do upgrades on your own if you didn't get the commercial license. This sounded reasonable, until I downloaded the package. It came as a machine image that I ran in KVM--so it was more than just accounting it was the full OS. But upgrades? Well, they had stripped out all package management systems and data about what packages were installed. Open, ya sure.... Pile of javapain... ;)
