Hello,
after finishing http://conference.osdn.org.ua/en/ (hopefully
another PR today), remembered I've missed on information about
our latest beta which should be worth mentioning.
--- ALT Linux OEM distribution beta released
New beta of ALT Linux Compact, an OEM
distribution specifically targeted at workstations and notebooks, is
available for download
This one features enhanced hardware support (Linux-2.4.22+patches; XF86
4.3+fixes:
ATI/NVIDIA/i8xx/CLE266/Trident video; ALSA-0.9.7/OSS+fixes:
EMU10k1, i8xx, and VIA82xx sound; softmodems, USB flash drives,
GigE, WiFi, ACPI, and more); see also the ChangeLog
It also has KDE, WindowMaker, IceWM, and improved Synaptic and alt-update
tools; default APT configuration points to ALT Linux Sisyphus
unstable package repository which has 5,100+ binary packages
(2,600+ source packages).
Everyone is welcome to give it a spin; bug reports can go
here,
and for general discussion see our
community-en@
mailing list.
