What is Divmod Quotient?
==================

Quotient is multi-protocol (SMTP, POP, IMAP, SIP, HTTP, Q2Q) server
that helps with all your online conversations be they over email, IRC, IM,
mailing lists or voice over IP. It is written in Python on the Twisted
framework
and uses Lupy and SpamBayes

0.6 Release Notes
=============

Highlights:
  - SIP Registrar and Proxy!
  - Lots more tests: from 62 to 90!
  - Vastly improved message browsing and viewing
  - Implemented bsddb indexes
  - Finer grained configuration control
  - bugfixes

The big news in this release is SIP. Quotient can now provide simple voice
over IP services. With it you can set up a little phone switch for you and
your friends. Great for free calling and long-distance pairing. Quotient is
your proxy and registrar allowing you to make VOIP calls to other users
registered on the same Quotient. We've even included support for SIP NAT
traversal. In release 0.7 we will implement SIP features including digest
authentication and proxy-to-proxy calling.

Our user interface continues to get fleshed out. The message list now
displays info about attachment, extracts and message size. The message
detail
provides a toolbar for forward and replying to messages as well as turning
a message into a to-do. Contact handling has been upgraded. A lot more
coming in this department :-)

More aggressive use of bsddb has improved our cross-platform stability.
We also fixed a number of bugs.

0.7 is focused on data stability, with an emphasis on allowing us to switch
on new features with a minimum of user disruption. Watch out for more UI and
SIP functionality.
