So it seems to me a number of unique and useful get disabled to appease Microsoft.

So we do depend on Microsoft, don't we?

LSS: Secure Boot

This only affects very non-technical Linux users who aren't able to enter the UEFI config screens and disable secure boot on their new computer.

However those users aren't likely to want to use kexec anyway. For them to lose hibernation might be somewhat more disappointing..if it worked.

And of course such people are typically going to have someone else install Linux for them - so secure boot can be turned off by the person doing the install.
