I'm just an end user and not involved with development, but I would love to see Gnome work towards including some sort of Gnome network/cloud functionality to enable a better multi-device user experience.
The idea would be to enable communication between Gnome installs (for example, a desktop & laptop) to synchronise passwords, desktop and application settings, online accounts, chat logs, location data, file browsing, etc.
It would be possible to design such a system to fully preserve the privacy of users through a zero-knowledge encryption design, use P2P networking to lower costs, and anonymised through Tor to prevent location tracking.
