Very good article, but could you enhance it with more complicated examples?

  1. Downgrading the complete system or parts of it
  2. Using a "stable" OS, but adding some brand-new packages, without breaking everything
  3. Setting up your own repository of self-made packages
  4. Setting up your own partial mirror of official packages

I know, that Debian's apt supports all this somehow, but maybe the other distributions do this better or more clever?
