I just don't get the whole IVI concept. Studies show consistently that distracted drivers drive as badly as those with blood alcohol over the legal limit.
Are we so in love with shiny things that we want to add more distractions to drivers and increase the carnage on the road?
I hope at some point that IVI manufacturers are hit with a punishing class-action lawsuit for their callous disregard for human life.
To be sure, some of the IVI features like rear-facing cameras are probably a good idea. But encouraging people to take calls while driving or to consider their cars as an "entertainment centre" is criminally negligent.
