I /completely/ support this. Too many times have I been constructing a minimal configuration by removing drivers for hardware that I don't have, removing 'tmpfs' because I expected the 'do you want ext4 partition?' during install to be enough, etc... only to find that the excruciating process of paring down the config was wasted because I had no idea where i went wrong until it was too late.

Yea... tmpfs is not really something you can remove these days and IIRC it actually says so in the description (ie: mentions you need it for certain things you almost certainly have to work)
