It's
official:
"
Red Hat and Fedora Linux are pleased to announce an alignment of
their mutually complementary core proficiencies leveraging them
synergistically in the creation of the Fedora Project, a paradigm shift for
Linux technology development and rolling early deployment models."
The old
Fedora Linux
Project was an effort to create a high-quality third-party RPM
collection for Red Hat Linux. That project has now merged with the Red Hat
Linux Project to create the
(new)
Fedora Project, which will be the home of Red Hat's free distribution
development. This merger will, it is hoped, bring a set of developers,
policies, and
experiences into Red Hat's attempt to create a community-oriented
distribution development project.
(Note that this project is different from a
Fedora Project hosted at Cornell).
