Time and patience is one aspect of the issue of course. However, it seems to me that this aspect is also a consequence of design priorities.
Should you pointing these very long delays of elementary improvements lead us to think that reconsidering the priority of security with respect to other issues in the overall development would be desirable?
If that's the case, you have my full support - even though it also seems to me that nowadays the security of user-level programs is becoming the urgent issue.
