Precisely, my concern regards a sort of mass DOS attack where someone evil has obtained the keys and remotely disables 90% of the computers out there. Oops.

My guess is that the risk is about the same someone breaking into the major vendors and pushing out an update that wipes everyones hard drives, ie. not very likely at all.
