St. Pierre: The Linux Graphics Stack

I'll be happy with remoting in the toolkits -- as long as they all do it via some shared library or something like that, so that at the very least something like $DISPLAY is consistently respected. It would be appalling to have to tell each toolkit separately where its display was, any authentication and so on (though it is probably best to let ssh handle the authentication and encryption side of things these days).
