Parent article: The CoDel queue management algorithm

Anyone see the irony in having an algorithm included in a opensource kernel which is referenced in a paper only available on the (closed) ACM?

I wonder why there is a boycott against Elsevier but not against ACM..

Um, I can download the paper directly from the ACM just fine from the linked page, without logging in through any of the various academic networks that I have access to. I'm not entirely clear what you're complaining about.

He doesn't know the difference between ACM and the ACM Queue, apparently. The Queue is not behind a pay-wall.

IMHO the irony is in the reasons why we never got to see the revised paper by VJ and KN back in 2006, finally disclosed in one of the comments of this blog post: http://gettys.wordpress.com/2012/05/08/fundamental-progre...
