LFCS 2012: X and Wayland

They seem to be saying that the compositor will be able to resize the windows without the applications intervention leading to super duper smoothness.

Er. No. Resizing the window is not resampling. The layout and text needs to be rerendered because it doesn't change size.

As far as I can tell the kind of resizing this will improve is just the snazzy graphical eyecandy stuff— which every serious user turns off simply because the animations add delay.
