I already had this lecture with regard to Nokia quite recently, but although it is true that nice people work for nasty corporations, some nice stuff happens, and people outside the corporations even come away with a nice feeling about it, one has to be aware that the nice stuff frequently gets paid for by the activities of the nasty people, whether that is as blatant as shaking down competitors for "licensing revenues", making sure that no-one uses the products of the competition, or gaming standardisation and procurement regulations to stake out guaranteed revenue streams at the expense of others.

But people don't always ask how the cool toys are paid for.
