You can just use serial console or some cheap server video. Believe me: you don't want to use this thing to drive your 30" monitor.

(not to mention render farms, computational research, etc).

Well, sure. But these need entirely different drivers, they don't need consumer-style OpenGL at all.

I'm not saying hardware for desktops and servers will get full divorce tomorrow - but this is where development is going.
